How long does it take to receive the D2M RS1? Typically 30-60 business days shipping is required. Allow 30
days manufacture and 30 days shipping.
How many prints can I get per screen?
Typically from one (1) print to approximately 2,000 prints.
This is dependent on PSI pressure (up to 55psi) and blade
condition.
Can I purchase 110/220-voltage? Our equipment operates off 110 and 220 voltages (standard).
The RS1 is auto switching.
What are the mesh counts recommended? Any standard untreated mesh will work well, there is no limit
re the brand or mesh size. Typical mesh 70, 100, 120, 135 and
200 seem to be the most popular. Note: the higher the mesh
count the less injectable emulsion is used reducing overall
cost.
Is financing available? Yes, your local dealer will have options available.
Can I print on any surface? You can print on virtually any flat surface. Not just
textiles but solvent inks for Industrial applications work
well. Note: you will need to test the ink used to confirm
compatibility to our injectable emulsion.
Can I save the screen? Yes.
What are typical cost savings when using the D2M RS1 system
versus a traditional screen printing system? In addition to the costs associated with reduced space and
time requirements, the D2M RS1 system reduces costs of screen
production from about $35.00 to $3.50 and reduces over 80% of
any steps required in screen making – water, time, labor,
chemicals, power, film, drying, exposure etc. Typically 4-12
hours to 4 minutes.
Can I print half-tones and greyscale? Yes, 38 lines – 200 lines per inch. Higher rates are
available. The D2M RS1 typically prints up to 2400DPI – in
uni-directional 1200 and 2400DPI are supported, in
bi-directional printing 720 and 1200DPI are supported.
Do I need to use chemicals? No chemicals are needed.
Can I reclaim screens? Yes, typically only high pressure is needed, and no chemicals
are required. A common de-haze maybe required dependent on ink
type used. Note: auto screen washing where pressure is
applied from both sides of the screen will not work well. We
recommend pressure from one side only. (We like the Karcher
Dirtbuster).
Can I work in a retail space? Yes. You can setup a complete D2M RS1 print shop in much less
space than traditionally shop setups. All darkroom
requirements and equipment aren’t needed for example.
How long does it take to make a screen? You can take a digital image to print in under four (4) minutes.
Do you have technical support? Yes, we have technical support available by contacting our
offices and authorized distributors who are all factory
trained. There are also comprehensive support videos
continually being produced which are a great support as well.
Do you have training? We offer hands-on training classes at installation.
Additional training is available after setup via teams
sessions as required.
Where do I buy supplies? Can I get supplies sent to me
quickly? And what supplies are there? All supplies are only available from our dealer network.
There are only 2 consumables available. The D2M injectable
emulsion available in 2 liter containers and 200ml D2M binder
concentrate (D2M binder concentrate is applied to 15 liters of
distilled water monthly which is located within the D2M
RS1).
What is the warranty? Every piece of equipment is backed by a 12-month conditional
manufacturer’s warranty. Full details are available on our
website or from your local dealer.
Can I get Material Safety Data information? Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are available upon
request.
Can we or you remotely get access to the machine via internet
for service? Yes, we recommend on-site support initially and training as
needed via remote login programs.
Free software upgrades? Yes, things change and get better! We regularly update via
newsletters with downloads available via our website.
What heads do you use? We use a combination of Epson UV rated print heads. The RS1
uses 2 in a staggered configuration.
Is the UV emulsion safe to wash down the drain? Yes and No! The injectable emulsion will break into small
particles which will require a mesh to catch prior to going
into a drain. Note: The emulsion will not dissolve into
water.
Does it have a shelf life? Yes, typically 12 months.
We use 20x24, 23 x 31/33 & 26x36 screens OD will it
accommodate all of these? The RS1 will accommodate all standard size frames, we have 3
sizes of platens which accommodate 90% of all frames sizes and
custom platens are available if needed. The RS1 ships with a
large platen to support common frame sizes used on automatics
and manual presses.
Does the screen need to be degreased prior to going on? Yes. Screens needs to be clear of dust and oil. A mesh prep may be needed depending on mesh brand.
Do you need a minimum tension on the screen for this
machine? No, any screen tension will work, however in higher LPI
requirements screen tension is essential for dot registration.
Keeping all screens within a 2 Newton variance makes it a lot
easier for on press registration.
What tolerance do you have for the size (height) of the
screen frame?
The RS1 will accommodate any screen frame size height up to
40mm thickness.
